Hello everyone! I decided to skip yesterday’s prompt due to mental stuff and having the memory of a goldfish (aka, I don’t know what happened 6 months ago). So, today let’s get into this. My favorite non-tarot forms of divination. I’m gonna be real, cartomancy is the form of divination I’m most comfortable with. However, I want to move more out of that comfort zone this year. Witchcraft is about learning to face the unknown with confidence. No good witch fears learning. Astrology I love astrology. I love everything from the symbology to the detailed way it can describe people. I love the reaction on people’s faces when you describe their personality and prove that astrology does have more than inconsequential truth to it after finding their moon and rising signs. I don’t use daily horoscopes, as I find predicting what someone’s going to do based on their sun sign to be too damn difficult. It’s better to just get in tune with the patterns of the heavens and to learn how you react during transits and retrogrades. Scrying Okay, I’m cheating here as I’ve only tried scrying once or twice, but how can you not love the idea of it?? Scrying is divination in its purest form. You can scry from anything- the sky, art, your wall, dirty bath water, the fucking toilet if you really wanted to. I have a scrying quartz that I’d like to learn to use this year, as well as how to scry with stars and water. I’d also love a scrying mirror! Palmistry Again. I like this for the sheer witchy-ness of it. I’ve always wanted to get my palm read- it seems like such an intimate, magical experience. I love looking at palmistry displays and artwork, and just find it so damn magical.
