For me, 2017 was a very spiritual year. After starting work in late 2016, I finally had money to purchase items for my craft instead of using leftover candles.

All of my decks, asides from Cosmos Tarot and Oracle, were purchased in 2017. While I’ve been studying tarot for longer than a year, this is the year I finally I had the funds to buy decks. Thus, I’ve narrowed this down to only decks published in 2017 Ophidia Rosa Tarot

If I had to actually rank these decks, this would be my number one. Ophidia Rosa is the only deck I’ve ever bought before seeing the cards. I had the Pythia Botanica Oracle by Leila + Olive, so when she dropped the announcement for this deck and I was getting paid the day it was for sale, I knew I had to get it. The energy of this deck is so beautiful and perfect for my work. It walks the line between light and darkness, using almost all plants. Some people find the cards that show humans and human objects jarring, but I quite like them. They all have a feeling of decay that I find wonderful. The Sasuraibito Tarot

This deck is just stunning. This is a deck that finally allowed me to explore my birth card- The Empress. I originally got this deck for the stunning Empress and High Priestess cards. Getting it, however, a distinct energy came through. I like to call this deck Uncle Iroh, after the kind and strong character from the Avatar: The Last Airbender. If you aren’t familiar with Avatar, please watch it. This is one of the most amazing shows of the 21st century. The Ostara Tarot

Yes, I only got this a few weeks ago but I’m including it. I’ve wanted this deck since yearly last year, but due to all the preorder glitches I ended up just putting it aside for a while. Now that I have it though, wow do I love this deck. The illustrations are gorgeous, the energy so wonderful. I look forward to working with this deck once spring is here, even though I’m currently using it for daily draws. The Bad Bitches Tarot

This is a deck I bought with a purpose in mind. When it comes to witchcraft, I often charge things with tarot and oracle cards. This is a deck that when I saw it, I instantly knew it would be good for setting my own energy. While I don’t post it as much, I will often leave a card from this out on my alter as an energetic pick-me-up. I’ve also found this is good for representing goddesses and people. I also love the use of clothing as symbolism! As an avid fashion lover, it’s so cool to see that in a deck for me. The Starchild Tarot Akashic (tarot size)

Okaaaay, yes, I’m including this on a technicality of this edition was released this year. But this deck is still new to me! This is a deck that, when I first saw it, I didn’t want to get it. However, seeing this edition made me want it. Somehow, the images now drew me in and made me need it. And wow am I glad I did! This deck is one I don’t use much, but when I do it’s profound and spiritual. I find I only use this deck for very personal, spiritual readings, but the voice is so needed.

While 2017 was a year of a lot of decks for me, I hope to add to my collection even more this year! Likely I’ll be focusing more on Oracle decks this year, but I want to work with so many decks I doubt I won’t get any.

Enjoy the rest of your night!
