Pride Spread

For those of us in the LGBT+ community, June is the month of pride and celebration! Even though I likely won't get to attend Pride festivities this year, I'm still celebrating in my own small ways.
One of those ways this year is figuring out how to connect more of who I am into craft. In a lot of witchcraft and paganism, there's an over-emphasis on feminine and masculine energies and how they work together. This might work great for cis straight people but as an agender lesbian, none of those ideas really click for me. Later on, I'll hopefully be able to finish how I view energies without gendering them, but for now let's just talk about a spread I made for tarot and oracle readings!
This spread is based off the original 8-color pride flag created by Gilbert Baker. For a little LGBT history, the flag we currently use is an altered version he created due to pink and turquoise inks costing too much. He altered the flag design to allow cheaper creation so it was more accessible.
Anyway, back to those 8 colors. Each color was chosen specifically with a meaning. Pink for sexuality, red for life, orange for healing, yellow for sunshine, green for nature, turquoise for magic/art, indigo/blue for harmony, and violet for spirit. The meanings were chosen to celebrate LGBT people and our lives and how we're allowed to be happy and live full lives full of love.
Many LGBT people I know, including myself, often fall into spits of depression caused by feeling we aren't right or whole. That we need to be cis and straight to be fulfilled, that it's not worth living our lives as who we are. It's a sad reality for us.
I created this spread to help fight against those times, to show us the good and wonderful parts of who we are. This spread is meant to be read as wholly positive. I did my personal reading with a tarot deck, but you could easily do this with an inspirational oracle to keep any possible negative readings out.
Personally, I feel the best way to do this reading is as a sort of mini-festival. You could even wait and do it on the summer solstice if you really wanted! I chose to do mine in the afternoon under our trees, laying out a blanket and making a mini picnic for while I divined. A chance for me to just chill and enjoy the afternoon shade and having some iced tea! Or you could just curl up on the couch and do the reading on a coffee table. Really, just think of what would make you feel most comfortable and good with yourself and do it.

Here's the actual spread for you! I designed it to be laid out in a sorta-heart shape. I chose not to number it because I feel like this is a very personal spread- lay it out in the order that feels right to you.
Pink- how you express your sexuality
Red- how you approach life
Orange- how you heal
Yellow- what brings you happiness
Green- Your natural self
Turquoise- your inherent magic
Blue- what brings you harmony
Violet- your full self
I hope this helps you with understanding yourself and your sexuality, until next time, guidance and clarity find you!
